A few reasons why now is the perfect time to start buying a home.

We think it’s the perfect time to buy, but why is that? We’ve been feeling a lot of consternation from our buyers. They’re worried about interest rates rising and their mortgages getting more expensive. While that has been the case in the past few months, we found out yesterday that the Federal Reserve only came out with a 75 basis point increase.

Many were worried that the Fed might raise rates by about 100 basis points, but this smaller jump has already been baked into the recent increase in mortgage rates. We shouldn’t see a massive increase in mortgage rates, if any.

"We’re starting to move toward a more normalized market."

For the first time in the last few years, buyers can protect themselves. They can get inspection contingencies and add back in clauses that they’ve had to remove in our crazy competitive market. We’re starting to see the tremendous growth we’ve had these last few years taper off, which is a good thing.

While interest rates hover around 5.5%, they’ve dropped in the last few weeks. Keep in mind that the 40-year average for rates is 6%, and we’re starting to move toward a more normalized market.

In a shifting market like this, it’s critical to work with someone who can help guide you through the changes. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email us. We’d love to help.
